WHAT IS REIKI
Reiki is a ancient technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "universal intelligence", and Ki which is "life force energy". It is administered by "laying on hands", and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

What to Expect During a Reiki Treatment
During a Reiki treatment you will lie down, fully clothed on a comfortable table. I will place my hands on top of, or underneath your body at various points in the session. The touch is very gentle and light. You may experience a wide range of sensations including: tingling, a buzzing sensation or warmth. During a Reiki treatment emotions may also come to the surface and be expressed. As the treatment continues, you may feel a wonderful glowing radiance flowing through and around you. At times you may be so relaxed that you fall asleep. Usually, people are encouraged to keep talking to a minimum so they can let go and deeply relax. However, many individuals find it helpful to deepen the session by verbalizing their feelings. At the end of a session clients report feeling peaceful, lighter, deeply relaxed and a heightened sense of well-being.
Reiki treatments can also be done at a distance.
